Julie's Story
My best friend would tell you I'm a bit crazy and fun to be with, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as quiet.
I share my home with my husband, and two daughters, which I find quite difficult to keep organized..
My first job was at Country Style Donuts, where I got paid 4$/hour to sling coffee and donuts.. What I remember most about it is getting my friend, Holly Hicks to work there too- man did we have fun. Our two bosses were quite cool and trusted us to run the shop for sometimes the whole day. We were often in the back creating new donuts and peanut and chocolate coated banana creations. .
I have a lot of memories of life at Queenston Drive Public School. To this day I dream of the school...Expand for more
, usually the yard and surrounding streets.
If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have a non toxic environment, interesting and decent people, and occassional bursts of fun to be able to deal with the day-to-day. My initial career goal of being a Speech Therapest changed even though I was on the wait list for McGill University and was accepted at S.U.N.Y (kind of regret that a bit now.) However, in my final year of Psych. undergrad, I had to do a coop assignment working with young children with cerebral Palsy and I found it too sad. I then made a complete career switch to Human Resources with an eye on the business world. After a few derailments and switches, I ended up at Xerox Canada where I stayed for 15 years.
