Julie's Story
After graduating from Clarion University with a BS in Music Ed, I returned to the area & taught vocal music for 6 yrs. at Washington Middle school in Jamestown. A professor's question which I was required to address at the remaining oral exam for my Masters in Music Ed. freaked me out so badly that when I got pregnant, I took 2 yrs. maternity leave, never finished the Masters, and stayed home for 13 years with my brood of 3.
However, with my children's college looming on the horizon, I knew I'd have to go back to work, so I enrolled full-time in UBs Masters of Library Science program and have been working full-time as a school librarian since 1999 -- currently at Jefferson Middle ...Expand for more
School -- and LOVING it! I'm still ever the music geek though, and catch any opportunity that looks appealing to participate in some musical activity in the community.
As for family, although all 3 kids were in transition this summer, they're currently settled and very happy in their respective positions/locations:
Andie: PR Coordinator for Tibi (fashion designer) in NYC
Reed: Music Ed. major at IUP (cello)
Laura: Rotary Exchange student in Argentina
Now, my husband, Eric, and I are dealing with this new phase as "empty nesters" --he loves the lack of chaos, I'm missing it. But each chapter in our lives has held unforeseen blessings, so I'm anxious to see what the future holds.
