Julie's Story
After high school, I went to Langara and took Art in Merchandising. I worked one year for Eaton's Sevenoaks (near Abbotsford) in their Display Dept., then moved to England for 2 and 1/2 years to work in a graphic design studio.
I came back to Canada in 1979 and started working in law firms, becoming a paralegal in corporate law.
In 1985, I joined Youth With A Mission in Singapore and worked ...Expand for more
with them for 4 years in Singapore and Hong Kong.
Mid-1989 to the end of 1990, I again worked in a law firm, then rejoined YWAM, this time in Chennai (formerly called Madras), India. I've been here ever since.
We do a lot of social work with slum dwellers, people affected by leprosy and AIDS, as well as training Christian young people.
I got married in 1993 and our daughter was born in 1995.
