Julissa's Story
Life
Hi everyone! Where do I begin? My name is Julissa but in high school everyone (almost everyone) knew me as Julie Alfaro. Well, after high school I started taking courses at College of DuPage and went there until the summer of 99'. After that, I transferred to N.I.U. in DeKalb to finish off my degree in Education in the winter of 2001. College there was a blast! I received scholarships that helped me pay for all of my classes and books. Better yet, I landed a job as an R.A. at University Plaza which took care of all my living expenses, food, etc. Great for me because I'm debt free! After graduation I began substituting in West Chicago until I landed a teaching job at Pioneer School and started teaching in the fall...Expand for more
of 2002. Since then, I have been teaching 1st grade bilingual and am now working on my masters in Education at National-Louis University. I will be finished with my masters after summer quarter 2008! As for my personal life, I currently got engaged and will be married in the summer of 2008 to my WONDERFUL fiancee who, yep, I met in Mexico but lhas lived in West Chicago pretty much his whole life as I do. As for sad news, my best friend of 25 years passed away a little over a year ago. Lisa also lived in West Chicago and attended elementary school, middle school, and high school here. She is missed every single day by many that she left behind. I know that her blessings are with me as I begin a new chapter in my life!
