Jun's Story

I attended San Jose State for undergrad (Environmental Studies) and received my PhD from UC Davis (Ecology), where I also did some postdoctoral work in conservation genetics. I went to the U.S. State Department in 2006 on a science diplomacy fellowship, which opened doors to working in international affair...Expand for more
s and national security. I spent the next 14 years working on the east coast and abroad (Europe, Africa, Central and South America, and the Caribbean) for the State and Defense Departments. I left government service and moved to Sacramento in April 2020 to refocus on science policy and be closer to family.
