June's Story
Life
I would have been married to my husband, Joe Jr. 49 years this past December. He lost his battle with cancer on May 5 of last year. We have 2 boys, John- 54 & Joe III-46. John is married with 2 children. Taylor, our granddaughter lives in Duluth, MN . John Pierce, our grandson, lives at home as he has Aspbergers.
Joe III is married to the game of golf.. Update: He is divorced. Evidently, not the right girl. .
I have tw0 dogs....a german shepherd, (outside) and a Maltipoo (inside).
I have been retired 22 years after teaching 38 years. I worked part time at a retirement apartment house, in the office until the end of 2006. Then I re-retired. It was really just like teaching 1st grade again only with little people in older bodies. I also served on my city's Election Commission. I just could not stay away from education so I took the job of Director of a preschool. (2, 3, and 4 year olds.) I had 4 supremely talented teachers working under me and did so enjoy it. I read a lot and text friends on my computer..
My husband, Joe, retired June 28, 2007. He played a lot of...Expand for more
golf which didn't bother me at all. He joined the Delta Area Seniors and they played in tournaments all over North Mississippi.
We collected antiques and collectibles and have a house full. Joe collected Fostoria Americana and Roseville pottery and I collected hobnail milkglass, dolls, angels, frogs, unicorns, and anything else that caught my fancy. Our grands got the collecting bug also. Taylor June collected porcelain dolls and my grandson, John Pierce, collected beanie babies. She is now 30 and he is 26. Our daughter-in-law makes bead jewelery and has classes/demonstrations at some of the local craft shops and our local art gallery. She also does pencil drawings of people when she gets orders and has done some wonderful work. Our son, John, is deep into computers. He builds and repairs them and keeps mine in working condition after I have somehow messed it up!! And that is quite often!
Joe III is busy playing golf and selling for Sysco Food Services.
I am so proud of all of them. Update on this also...Joe III is staying with me right now and taking care of things around my home.
