Justin's Story

Well, where to begin, of course the number of allowable spaces in the template will probably be fully inadequate. At Cascade High I was mainly concerned with just getting through school and so was not involved with school activities as such - circumstances were not ideal at the time for me. Perhaps some opportunities were missed and poor decisions were made - we all make choices, exercise the probability potential in different ways, it is all part of the grand experience. Looking back though, school and college were really a lot of fun (it actually can be much more fun than working). I recall that there were a lot of talented and sharp people in our class at Cascade High. I'm sure that many have succeeded with rewarding careers and fulfilling life experiences in all ways. After high school I was not sure exactly what livelihood to choose (some do know early on either from natural gifts or strong parental training - most do not), but did know that support would be necessary and the draft was a constant threat. So, being the pragmatist I volunteered for the service in order to have a choice with that schooling and predefined duty locations - the GI Bill really helped put me through college (WSU). In reflection I would say to others, always consider taking that chance (as long as you have a backup plan). I chose the Army air defense school as a missile tech, the school was rather long and the total service time was relatively short - another step completed. There were a number of missile sites in Europe then and I put in for duty overseas. Europe rocks, there is an entirely different attitude and openness there with an exceptional transportation system for uncomplicated travel most anywhere. I saw a good portion of Europe and look forward to enjoying it again in retirement. I had a great time (when away from work). Previously, I trained in west Texas and was assigned to northern Germany for 27 months. In college I chose engineering. I liked math, modeling/running computer simulations and wanted to have an edge concerning job opportunity/security in good or bad times with defense work (i.e. it's really just all business) and was not smart enough to go to med school which would also have been very rewarding. Spent my entire career (job) in aerospace/defense systems industry in engineering analysis working on weapon systems (still am) in CA, WA and AZ with some time (~7 yrs) spent at Hanford and the national lab in ID at the nuclear facilities. Spent about 10 years in the SF bay area, it's also a great place to live, only drawback is that there are about 5 m...Expand for more
illion people who want to do the same thing as you do at the same time! Whatever it is, you need to stand in line and buy a ticket, but it was still enjoyable once you got through the traffic. The jobs were there and everyone also wanted to live in the in that environment (i.e. Mediterranean-like climate for most of the year). However, many got tired of it and chose to make that one-way move back to WA or wherever, to purchase the dream home - many did just that. Married after grad school and moved to CA bay area, then back to eastern WA after almost 10 yrs. The marriage did not last and I got caught in a layoff at the nuclear facility in Hanford, WA. I was very upset since my children were there and I had to leave them for work - never really saw them grow up, that was hard. Moved to ID from WA, ID did not please me, so I left after about 1½ yrs and was able to find a another job in AZ (also had a connection with parents in AZ then). Companions came and went and for a while my life seemed to have all the stability of a floating crap game. I currently reside in Tucson, AZ, work at Raytheon Missile Systems Company and will retire from that outfit at 62. Always living on the edge as usual..... Spring and fall are truly wonderful here, summers (~5 months) are miserable. The city is alright, basically a retirement community of a little less than 600K people - a mix of college students and old people mostly, so I'll probably soon fit right in (Phoenix is great, although slightly higher crime rate and way too hot during the summers, even for the golfers). I noticed that many have photos posted and the year books are now out! I imagine that some of us would like to get rid of a few of those pics (electronic files can certainly have their drawbacks)! The familiar countenances may have changed a bit - many have been able to reverse or rather impede our unnatural aging program remarkably well. You may want to reflect on the supposition that all the people you have been intimate with and close to perhaps including those within circles of friends and like-minded groups, that you have known one another before and not necessarily just in this arena. Hobbies for now include travel (love sandy beaches), classic cars and sports cars, hiking, TV studio directing and amateur video production, options trading, metaphysical subjects and study, disclosure and research into free-energy systems, reading, ballroom, Latin, country and swing, dance. Hey, it looks like there is plenty of room left for future updates! Need to get some photos posted too .... Justin G. Fadeff
