KAREN's Story
I graduated from SPHS in 1960, in the first graduating class. I then attended Sacred Heart School of Nursing and Gonzaga U and graduated as a Registered Nurse. My first job was at Sacred Heart as the first dialysis nurse in the new and first dialysis center in Spokane. The remainder of my hospital nursing experience was in critical care, ER and ICU as both a practitioner and educator. The last 25 years of my career was in case management, as owner of my own company in Seattle. I have three adult daughters,...Expand for more
successful in their own careers, two as nurses and one as a teacher. I have been a widow since 2010 and retired in 2015, when I moved back t0 Spokane where i am busy volunteering, spending time with family and friends and following GU basketball...Go Zags! My brother and I are also season ticket holders to UW football,...Go DAWGS! Traveling is a high priority for me.....next up is trip to Ireland in October of this year with my daughters. I would very much enjoy re connecting with some 1960 Highlanders!
