KENNETH's Story
After graduation, went down to Nacogdoches, and entered Stephen F. Austin in the Fall of '71...
First time "away from home" and was more interested in partying, than doing well in school...At the same time, I was still corresponding with my longtime girlfriend up in Minnesota...Hitchhiked, up there in the late Fall of '71, for Thanksgiving...We decided to get married, and she came back down to SFA with me and we got a tiny little place near campus...I tried to continue with school...but was totally distracted from that task...Went to work at Lufkin Industries, and went to school part-time...The next year in Feb. we had our firstborn, Kenneth Jr...Moved to "married housing" on campus
and things were a little better...But decided to go into the Air Force, to get the GI Bill funding...
After my hitch, got out, and since I was discharged in Florida, went right to the University of Fla. where I worked like a dog, and went both part-time, and full-time, by that date, we had 3 kids...and I remember taking my youngest to class with me...I'm still sooooo proud that Frankie would just sit there and color in his color books...He was quite the charming little

tinued into his later years...
Finished up with a B.A. in Advertising, with a minor in Marketing...Came to Ft.Worth, Tx. to start a career with the local
newpaper, The Fort Worth Star-Telegram...I wasn't cut out to be a suit, so started moonlighting in the flooring business...Became very proficient, and was soon making more part-time in that trade, than full time with the degree...So
in 1984, I hung up the sheepskin, and went full-time into flooring....
Now 27 years later, I'm still doing it, and have expanded my company to include 3 offices...2 in Texas..DFW and Houston, and 1 in Oklahoma City, Ok...The good Lord has blessed, and we are doing great...We do top to bottom services, from Flooring to Roofing and everything in-between...What ever the homeowner might need...
All I can really say is WOW...Where did the last 40 years go???...I blinked, and I'm 58...have grandkids, and have become the "establishment" that I once despised...Ahhhh, the fleeting and spinning hands of time...But it is what it is...We all need to enjoy every moment...Be in the moment...Count our Blessings, and Don't sweat the little stuff...Enjoy Life, because it slips away...Insidiously...Insidiously...INSANELY Insidiously...!!!
