Karan's Story
After graduation I attended a Interior Design/Fashion school in Buckhead. Once I completed school, I went to work for a company where there was room for advancement. Ultimately I become a District Manager for this company. In 1996 I quit to stay home and raise my children.
My family- I married a wonderful man! Having moved from inside the perimeter of Atlanta, to the out-skirts of the city (Cherokee County) , I still had my friends at my church that I had attended for many years while in the Metro-area. I married Jeff, who was from my youth group at church. We met when we were 15 and 16. We didn't date until we were 17 and 18. We will celebrate our 20th anniversary November of 2009. I got married in 1989 and had a son in 1991. He has just graduated High School this week (5/09). My next son came in 1993. He will be starting his Sophomore year fall/09. My daughter was born in 1996 just before the Olympics. She will begin her 8th grade year fall/09. My fourt...Expand for more
h child was born just eighteen months later, Nov 1997. She enters 6th grade fall/09. My kids are the best! They keep Jeff and I very busy with all their activities.
I went back to work when my youngest started school. I work at Kohl's, Hamilton Mill (Mall of GA area). I am not currently in management. I wanted to be available to participate in activities with my children at their various schools. Just know, it is very hard having been a higher level manager and dropping to "zero" level manager. The "manager" never leaves you. I tend to direct/manage from a peon level. It can be very frustrating at times. I will eventually go back into some kind of management whether it is with Kohl's or elsewhere, when the time is right for my family.
This is my story for now. It has been an interesting journey so far, with many ups and downs. Parenting being the hardest job I have ever done, hands down. There have been many joys and many challenges, but its been fun!
