Karen's Story
I spent 5 years living over seas (2 times round the world-- 2 years in Europe, 3 in Asia), making my living mostly playing street music with the hammered dulcimer I built for my senior project at SWW. I moved to the Washington, DC area (Silver Spring, MD) in the early 80ies because of the strong Irish and folk music scene. nd culture. My paths cross with Betsy (Marks) Delaney - Lew's daughter. I have a son who is a jazz trombonist in NYC (just graduated from UT Knoxville.) I perform frequently with my husband Paul Oorts who is from Belgium. Now I am working on learning Dutch/Flemish.
I've been sorry to miss the SWW reunions- but I need more lead time! The last one I found out a week after I had accepted a gig for the same date.
