Karen's Story

My Life: I've been married for the last 51years to a Mackenzie H.S. graduate--Ted Llewellyn. We've lived in the same house in Madison Heights for 47 years. We have 2 wonderful children. Our son, Darrin has been married for 20 years and gave us our first grandson, Gavin on Nov. 26, 2003 and our beautiful granddaughter-Grace on Sept.17 2007. Our daughter, Shannon has been married for 15years, to the most wonderful guy, Matt. and gave us a wonderful grandson, Logan, on July1, 2010. I was a Girl Scout Leader for 28 years, having 5 different troops over those years. I received the HIGHEST award in Girl Scouting, as an adult in May '04 and continued to work in the organization as a Trainer to new leaders. I became a trainer for the Council 16 years ago and for those of you who knew me in high school, I couldn't...Expand for more
get up in front a class and speak, to save my soul. I trained at least 3 classes a week, no more shy Karen. I went back to work after being out of the work force for so many years . Then I retired to full time. IJust keep busy with my Girl Scout Alumni group I am experiencing the "empty nest" syndrome and can't wait to have another room to decorate but will most likely add Girl Scout "Stuff" to it.(I did that and added GS stuff to 2 more rooms, Thank goodness I have an understanding husband in Ted, who is happy if he gets to play golf and his computer games. Ted is retired from his job. As for me I'm not sure what I'll do. Right now we are still in business - called Morinda Inc.
