Karen's Story
Hi Gang,
What a long strange trip it's been. Turning 56 this year forced me to consider what came before and reminded me of my roots.
Life since high school? Exciting, fun, scary, sad, lonely, jolly, busy, in short, pretty much the same as it has been for everyone I've ever talked to.
Not one to sit still for very long I've spent a lot of time traveling and trying to improve myself. Like many of our generation, I searched for answers about my existence in drugs, sex, travel, extreme sports, religion, education Blah, Blah, Blah. Nope, I never found the answer but I've finally decided I don't really care. It is what it is! I could have figured that out earlier if Opus had been around!
I've moved around a bit, living briefly in New York, Atlanta, Tampa, Miami, Santa Fe and most recently Las Vegas. I did return to the homeland (Muncie) in 1981 to raise my son Wi...Expand for more
lliam, that's the longest I've ever stayed in one place.
I'm a bit of a dilettante-overeducated and pretty useless in most areas, I am however, a Nurse Practitioner and Nurse Educator so I have been able to give back something of value to the communities that sustain me.
I haven't changed all that much, I remain my own woman, still love a good joke/prank, love to read, love the beach/ocean, love to dance, am usually up for a party, love extreme sports, rock-'n-roll, fast cars, blue jeans and new projects.
I believe life imitates Seinfeld, that we have totally screwed our environment, that self-determination is our birthright, that George Bush is a Schmuck and finally that forgiveness is the key to a happy life. I intend to live another 56 years, take a few more trips, a few more classes and finally finish reading Gravity's Rainbow!
My motto: Go For It Baby!
