Karen's Story
I have been very busy lately. This past June I flew to Charleston, SC to visit my daughter.I stayed a month and had alot of fun at the beach and other places. Well, she decided it was time to leave her husband of 20 years. So I bought her a van and we rented a u-haul and drove back to Nampa, Id with my son and four of her kids. We also had 2 dogs. It was a very long 4days and late nights. They have been living with me for 4 months now. Her kids are extremely loud and hard to handle at times. We have 3 teenage boys in the house and an eight year old and their 2 year old sister.
I am really happy to have them with me and to have gotten them out of a dangerous situation. But my nerves are a little fried about now. Their 19 year old brother stayed behind because he is going into the army in...Expand for more

My son has Down Syndrome. He will be 18 on November 5th and will graduate high school in May. I am so proud of hime. It sure is hard to see that he is so grown up already. We belong to several groups for kids and young adults with disabilities. We do alot of fun things together. This weekend is the annual Buddy Walk for Down Syndrome.We march from the Capital to a park where we have lunch, entertainment and alot of fun.
Two of my grandsons are playing football, so those games and the school varsity games keep us pretty busy. My son, Matthew competes in Special Olympics. This past july he won his first gold medals in track at the State Games. I was so proud of him. He had previously won a few silver but these were his first gold.
So this is how I keep myself busy these days!
