Karen's Story

After high school, I went to Syracuse University to study journalism at the Samuel I. Newhouse Communications Center, where I graduated in 1968 with a dual degree, one in journalism and one in religion -- a combination no one understood at the time, but which has since become very popular. After college, I worked in advertising (just to maintain a consistency with doing things that no one understood), married, and had two children -- Kim (now a CPA and until recently, controller of the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, who is married to my wonderful son-in-law Peter) and Todd (an actor in New York, married to wonderful Karen from Lille, France, who presented me with my precious first grandchild, Isla, in July 2008). w York as a single parent during the '80s, where I lived and worked for many years while also doing a lot of traveling in Europe, and in the '90s, I moved to Washington, DC, where I still live and work in the publishing field. Life, overall, has been interesting, intriguing, and happy, and continues to be so. I've also enjoyed seeing many of you at all our reunions over the years, as well as being in touch with many not at the reunions (and the immediate reconnection that takes place in both instances, despite the passage of time). And I've had the joy, too, of being accompanied through life by those special people with whom I never lost touch after graduation. There's nothing like an old friend, and I'd love to hear from all.
