Karen's Story
I'm doing this story at the request of Wayne Hendershot. HA. After high school, I moved and travelled often. My jaunts and moves have taken me all over the United States, with travel in Canada, Italy, France, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Belgium, The Netherlands, the Southern Caribbean and Mexico so far. I yearn to visit the Greek Islands, Istanbul, and perhaps Madagascar or other exotic places. And maybe Israel some day. My two favorite places to live so far have been Los Angeles, and Arlington, Virginia. Virginia particularly feels like home. My life has been interesting and challenging. Most of my life was devoted to my career, and I was a spinster (not hardly ha!)until I met and finally married my husband, John, in 2005. c. The DC area is a very exciting place to live. I took early retirement last year because of health issues but got bored so now am back doing my own interior design business, as well as designing jewelry and to take up my spare time - I am working the 2010 Census. I am planning a trip to Paris next April to spend two weeks with family, and am anticipating my return to the beautiful City of Lights. NOPE - I did not have children, but I had wonderful pets over the years and they have been great. My little girl right now is Gracie Allen - a wonderful tortoise Calico who is an absolute handful! But her Cat IQ is 91 - so what can I expect. My Mom and Dad are still alive as well as all my siblings so I am truly blessed. LIFE IS WONDERFUL! Now if I could only get those extra pounds off - I would be ecstatic.
