Karen's Story

Where has time gone? It seems like yesterday that I was sitting in my homeroom in the basement of Audubon scared to death and not knowing anyone. LOL Though through it all, School ended up being great, I was one of the ones that freakishly loved school however I did not take the time to discover all the fun things that school had to offer. I have fonder memories of Kershaw and the three years the we, the " Mt. Ephraim kids" spent there. How can we forget Teachers like Mr. Higbee, Mr Levy, Mr. Rappa, Mrs. Schlesinger and who could forget Pine and Kershaw. I am now a grandmother to a beautif...Expand for more
ul baby boy. Whew, never thought I would be saying those words but I love the words and adore him. My past crusade: I started a program many years ago in coalition with an organization on the Pine Ridge Indian reservation in SD, finding Holiday sponsors for Native American Children who live like we were a 3rd world country. I ran this program for close to 15 years and visited the reservation three times. Later the program moved to the Navajo reservation working with the child protective services in Window Rock Arizona. It was an amazing venture. Wishing Happiness to All, Karen Tyszka
