Karen's Story
Life
1979-1982 Worked for Home Savings & Loan Corporate office.
1981-1990 Married to Jack Kirk, had two children, Crystal & Cameron.
1982-1990 Worked for Adventist Health System-West, in accounting.
1990-1994 Worked for a private CPA, single parent, went back to college for a semester to take payroll accounting, work experience, and music theory. Learned to play the guitar a little and tried to find out what I wanted to be instead of fitting into someone elses mold.
1994-2003 Met and married Mike Powell, had one more child, Jason.
1994-2006 Worked for Alta California Regional Center, a state funded organization that provides services to the mentally handicapped. Worked my way up to Supervisor of the Accounting department.
2006 - present Started working for Trust Management Services, a company that provides financial services for the mentally handicapped population. We receive their SSI/SSA funds and make sure that their rent and all their bills get paid.

kes very good care of her. She has a Savana monitor, 3 bearded dragons, 2 leopard geckos and some frogs. She also loves tatoos, so it's not surprising that her husband is a tatoo artist. She is also a big help to me by watching my youngest son when I need or want to go somewhere that I cannot take him. My older Son, Cameron works at Coca-Cola Bottling Co. He enjoys skateboarding, disc golf, climbing, snow boarding, camping, swimming and art. He also got married in July 08 and had the most beautiful baby girl. My other son, Jason is in grade school. He attends a wonderful Montessori program and loves art. He also enjoys video games, disc golf, swimming, and he is a week away from testing for his black belt in Taekwondo.
I have a house and a huge yard, so when I'm not working full time, I'm usually maintaining my yard and house. In my spare time I love to get out in nature especially by lakes, steams or oceans. I take my son, Jason, on his school field trips when I can and we go rollerskating, swimming and to the movies to see the latest cartoons. I love to visit with friends and family. And in the quite times, I love to just sit down with a good book and get lost in the story.
