Karen's Story
Life
I have been living in South Florida since 1984. My mom passed away 13 years ago from cancer. My dad & I share my house. He is going to be 90. I am, very luckily, a cancer survivor also. My cancer left me unable to have children but I'm very happy to announce that I have adopted a beautiful little 2 1/2 year old girl from Guatemala named Cassidy Rose. I lost my beloved mini-poodle Jasper on 1/05/06. He was 15 years old. I have an 8 year old tortoiseshell cat named Be...Expand for more
lla and a 8 year old tortoiseshell Persian named Ebony. They are very affectionate animals. They are also my children. I work in a senior center but I'm thinking of possibly making a career change as wages in a non-profit agency does not pay enough to support a child. I'm not sure what I'll change to but it will have to pay better than my present job. My college degree is a Bachelor's in Social Work which I've been very blessed to have been able to use since graduation.
