Karen's Story
Hi all, I am going to write my story over, because people are asking me too. My last story got lost in notes or something.
After High School I married and divorced in 4 years. I then worked at a Silk screening place for many years with my best friend from High School Linda Sniderhan. I re-meet my husband Mark Johnson while bowling at BP bowl and fell madly in love and we got married in Feb. 1983, two weeks after my daughter was born Jan. 26,1982. Erin was born three months early and had Cerebral Palsy. She was 2 lbs. Mark and I talk about it and decided not to have any more kids, but instead devote all our time to this precious little girl and try to get her all the help life had to offer and to give her our full attention and to be able to concentrate only on her. We just wanted her life to be as normal as possible. We never ask God, Why. She was just to wonderful not to try to help her every way we could. She was in brownies and girl scouts for four years and was girl scout of the year through the whole High Desert. She was in chorus for 6 years. She was in a Lawyer class in High School and attended many functions going on thru the years. Erin is now 28 and has been in college for three years online and wan...Expand for more
ts to become a child Physcologists. It has been our honor and pleasure raising such a amazing young women. Life would never been as great without her.
We moved to the High Dessert 23 years ago when there was nothing. Mark taught here for quit a few years and was a great teacher. They still come up to him now and Thank him. We were the first on our block for years. We lived down three miles of dirt road with no electricy for 7 years. It was tough but we loved it. It was pitch black and easy to get lost. Many new places and several stores now here in Phelan and Pinon Hills. It has always been quiet and at night it is full of beautiful stars. Lots of friends have visited through the years. It was like camping for a long time.
Erin had so many friends in school so I was a second mom to all. I loved that. She still has her best friends that have been here forever that are doctors and teachers and lawyers and etc. In my heart I know someday she will marry and possibly have children. She has had several boyfriends. She wants to finish school first. Boo hoohoo, don't know what I will do, but of course support her. Mark and my biggest blessing has been our Erin. We were never rich or famous, but life is still good.
