Karen's Story
Hello Miami,
I have been in NY for all this time and still married to the same guy for 35 years now. We live in a beach front community about 30 minutes from Manhattan and yes, I still like it here. I am active in the artist community, have 2 homes and recently bought an RV and still venture to sunny Florida when we can. We are not working anymore, have 2 boys, one in college and one finished with college and working in an engineering firm designing houses and believe it or not, gas stations. The college kid is going to SUNY New Paltz and majoring in Graphic Design and then plans to go to FIT in Manhattan for toy design, one of my colleges that I went to for jewelry design in the 80s. so have a degree in Fine Arts so I try to keep abreast of all that, going to art openings and exhibiting some of my work occasionally. I still love horses and ride as often as possible. New York, especially upstate, is beautiful and we travel in our RV there and everywhere, picking up the college kid and friends and heading up to the mountains when possible. We love to travel and the past 2 years have gone to Europe on cruises with the boys.
It would be great to hear from some of the old Palmetto HS people or any of the "Ridge Rats." Years ago I would run into some of my old friends when visiting Florida but it seems the hurricanes in the past have scattered everyone. Drop a line sometime!
