Karen's Story
We are getting ready for the Memorial Day weekend and for my birthday. Good friends are taking me to one of the best steak and seafood resturants in Dallas.
My husband is helping his brother add a guest house to his ranch in east TX.
A correction, I actually graduated in 1961. I have been married almost 40 years. We moved to Texas in 1998 from CA. Both my husband and I retired from Verizon Communications. Ray five years ago and me, four years ago. I have a son and a daughter. Two grandsons and four great grandchildren. I love my life but I do miss CA; the beach and the mountains very much. I am still best friends with Linda Baker Cozzolino, Sheila Manly Schmidt and write to Don Bantum if you remember them.
The highlight of my career was working for almost 10 years at the University of Redlands in Redlands, CA. I worked with the faculty for the excellerated degree program. I had two assistants and two student assistants and we supported a full time faculty of 24 and adjuct faculty of 242. We offered AA and BA degrees to non traditional students. Usually people in their thirty's to their sixty's. It was an amazing time.
