Karen's Story

Life We moved to Rigby, Idaho in November 2007. I've been married since 1990. I have five children (three boys and two girls, ages 8-22), a one-eyed dog, and a hamster. I write books, mostly humor and books about gifted education. If you get a chance, pick up a copy of one of my books and make a donation to the "Save the Isaacson Family Budget Fund." Look for Raisin' Brains: Surviving My Smart Family, Life in the Fast Brain: Keeping Up With Gifted Minds, or Intelligent Life in the Classroom: Smart Kids and Their Teachers. Most of my family members live up in Montana, where we recently lived. My brother, Craig, manages two family-owned Italian restaurants, and my sister, Sheila, manages a family-owned chocolate ...Expand for more
company--yum! My kids: Greg is 22, lives in Utah, and wants to go into film. Max is 19, lives in Montana, was a big soccer nut in high school, and is currently working while he decides what he wants to do when he grows up. Kassie is 16 and fiercely independent. She is currently trying to work her way through high school as quickly as she can and hopes to graduate a year early so she can get on with her life. Dominique is 11. She's a soccer goalie and a goof, and just skipped a grade this year--guess she's in a hurry, too. Sam is 8 and loves to make maps and plans and organize clubs. He loves soccer, Star Wars, and riding his bike. Anyone who wants to get in contact can find me at jacobnesau on America Online.
