Karen L's Story
My Life has been an adventure. I enjoy all the stops along the way, some wonderful and some not so great. I must say that meeting my Second Husband now 36 years married has been the best Adventure Ever! We have traveled and volunteered. We now live in Pensacola FL "Home of The Blue Angels". I was a full time Volunteer in the Audio/Visual/Oral Histories,and the Archive Dept. I helped on filming Oral Histories, scanning the Flight Training Jacket "Folders" of the Beginning of Naval Aviation, snapping pictures of events, archiving the video/audio histories.,etc..... The Museums latest project is a Display in Hanger Bay One called "Typewriters to Strike Fighters" "WOMEN IN THE MILITARY" celebrating a hundreds years of women in Naval, Marine and Coast Guard Aviation. My high lights have been meeting the Museums Director Blue Angel 1957-59 Captain Robert Rasmussen, the Commandant General James Amos USMC, Vice Admiral Robin Braun USN "Works for DC", Capt Cera Benbow USMC "Huey" Pilot, Capt.Tami Ryley USN Lady Pilot "works for DC", Jill Nelson USN Pilot, E-2C Hawkeye Female Crew, EA-18G "Growler" Lady Pilot, Astronauts: Neil Armstrong, Gene Cernan, John Glenn, Scott Kelly, Actor Jon Voight, And numerous other people that I have been honored to speak with and/or film their oral history and/or Green Screen Shoot for Displays around The National Naval Aviation Museum. My Husband Todd was Security Watch Captain. Now we are totally Retired and just beaching it everyday, enjoying Life. So the Journey's continue......
