After graduating, the plan was to take a year off - the now famous gap year - and then continue with college after. My Mom said, "if you take a year off, you'll never go back." Well, she was right as usual, but I wouldn't change the way my life played out. I had several jobs: administrative assistant, real estate, etc. until I settled at USLD Communications (formerly US Long Distance) where I eventually became the Director of Marketing. I was there for 9 years before they were acquired by another company, and I would have had to move to McClean, VA. By that time, I was married and had grown to love San Antonio so I wasn't about to move back east. Most of my classmates in High School knew me as "New York," because that's were I was born & raised before moving to San Antonio in 1976 smack in the middle of Sophomore year. Before I ended up retiring from USLD in 1998, I had a spiritual awakening on April 1, 1996 and began a journey of discovering God and His Truth.
