Karen's Story

If you'd like to contact me, write to: dreamcatching4u2 at that Y with a hoo place on the com. Be sure you put something in the subject line that doesn't look like spam. I'm on FB too. Thanks Life is super exciting! After HS, was married 11 yrs, now divorced. I recently began dating again (yikes!) lol. Children are grown. YAY! I have a sweet little family and would love to write more here, but I respect their right to privacy. Suffice it to say, I'm the very proud mommy of two beautiful daughters who grew up way too fast. :) I'm now a grandma of one gorgeous little girl. Unfortunately, they live in KY. My youngest still has a couple years of college and is local. I own a video production company and currently work on projects part time. I've jungle-trekked all around Yucatan, Mexico, where I was initiated by an indigenous Maya Shaman. I've explored ancient ruins of Chitza Nitza, I scuba dive and love, love, love the Palancar Reef off Cozumel, I've jungle-trekked all around Riviera Maya to Tulum and Phuket, Thailand. I've even had dinner with a crocodile (funny story). I've ridden on camels in Egypt and hiked breathless and wheezing up to Machu Pichu, Peru & Lake Titicaca, Bolivia which inspired me to finally quit smoking, which I did. YAY! I've lazed on the beaches in Belize and zip-lined in Costa Rica. I've toured around Argentina, Japan & Malaysia. Angkor Wat & Angkor Tom, Cambodia took my breath away. I spent a month on Maui, filming and reflecting. I flew to Phuket, Thailand on a humanitarian mission right after the tsunami hit and also filmed as a member of the International Press Corps. Buddhist monks at two temples that were converted into body processing centers there, blessed us in private chanting & annointing ceremonies, as thanks for our good work. That, for me was a super special,life-changing experience. In video production, I work primarily with anthropologists, also wi...Expand for more
th scientists, researchers & writers from all over the world. This is what I love to do. I also have a respectable "day" job locally (That I DO NOT love) LOL but... it pays the bills, and provides excellent benefits while my daughters finish college and has funded my education & adventures in life. I've already earned a few degrees and am working on two more. Somehow, I've developed an insatiable thirst for knowledge. I have my degrees in Radio/ TV Broadcasting, Global Business Leadership, Liberal Arts, and Anthropology. I've earned certifications in graphic design & desktop publishing, and residential wiring lol. Yep. I'm a certified electrician too. I plan to continue with International Relations to become a foreign diplomat/ peace worker so that my new "day job" will pay me to travel, while I continue to do good things for people and earth and continue to produce & distribute relevant, informative, independent video, until my retirement. :) Hobbies: I'm a certified scuba diver. Love it! I also love to kayak and hike. I feel particularly blessed living in one of the most beautiful regions of the world (here, in the Adirondacks) with so many activity options available in my own back yard. I now know this, having traveled extensively around the world. I really didn't appreciate the beauty of my habitat during my younger years. Life is good, albeit busy. I recently bought a home and look forward to getting back into my manual arts; painting, drawing, sculpture, etc. that I loved and thrived in during high school I've transformed my basement into my video production ~slash~ art studios (and gym-spa). YAY! :) My childhood "adventures" (cough!) have come full circle with a much more practical (and profitable) focus. Not too shabby for a wayward high school dropout voted least likely to succeed. HA! In case you're wondering, sister Vicki's murder still remains "officially" unsolved. Pfft!
