Karen's Story
I am thankful for the life that the Lord has given me. I have a wonderful husband to whom I have been married for nearly 34 years. Our two children, Kevin and Ashley, have been a joy to us. We have raised them to know the Lord. I was saved in January 1974 and shortly thereafter the Lord worked a miracle in my heart concerning His choice of a husband for me. I had went out with Tom a time or so...didn't much care for him. After I was saved, the Lord changed my heart. Within two months, he proposed and within 10 months we were married. The empty nest syndrome hasn't affected us very much. It was hard when the kids left but we had a solid foundation and so we built upon it. I graduated from college in 1991 with a BS in Education. I have nearly 20 hours towards my Masters. I have worked for the past 12 years as a paralegal at Blair Law Firm in Logan. Tom works for Hobet Mining and will be able to retire next month...Lord willing.
All in all, there's not much that I would do differently if given the opportunity to do it all over again. I have tried my best to learn from my mistakes and to try to build on what I have learned from them.
