I am a breast cancer survivor of 1 1/2 years. I went through a double masectomy, chemo and radiation. Despsite the ups and downs, there were some awesome perks. Actually, I kind of miss those perks.
I have a great job in a great firm. I work defense med mal. Very busy.
My 30-year marriage could not withstand the attacks of another woman. It crumbled under her attacks and I am also a divorce survivor.
I am from Wyoming - born and bred - and I miss it a lot. I moved to South Florida in 1970...expected to stay only two years but here I am. 13 years and for just a short time with Sarah and I loved every minute. At no time was I bored - can't be bored raising Sarah!!
In 1994, I found my son. I am so proud of him. I prayed everyday that God would put him with a family that would love him and give him the home I knew I couldn't give him. God was faithful, as He always is, and that was just what he got. He is an amazing person, good looking (of course, after all, I'm his Mom) (P.S. my girls are positively beautiful - of course, I'm their Mom), and living the good life as a bachelor. From him, I have a beautiful granddaughter - MY FIRST GRANDCHILD - who is just as amazing as her dad. Her eyes are yer biograndfather's eyes...hands down...I love being Grandma Karen. I don't see her as much as I would like but I hear from her often.
I was in to volunteer work but it has fallen to the wayside. I sort of liked it - it gave me a way to meet other people and interact socially. I was teaching computer software work at the Adult Literacy League on Michigan Avenue near downtown Orlando...had a great group of people...mostly Haitian...I had to keep calling my sister-in-law to help with the pronounciations of their names and they knew some English but used a heavy accent. Very nice people. I may pick that up again.".
