Karen Sanchez:

CLASS OF 1974
Denver, CO

Karen's Story

In my days of Junior High and High School I was in such a hurry to put youth behind me and I didn't realize I would miss those days in my young life. Now I wish that I could have put it all in slow motion so I could have enjoyed youth just a little bit longer. I've put a few years and many miles behind me since High School and I sure miss the smiles and the energy of my younger days and I sure miss my younger friends. I married young as most of my friends did back then and I had a family for a short time. Unfortunately the fairy tale ending was not in the plan for me, but despite the challenges I've been blessed in ways I can't explain. I was so fortunate to meet so many wonderful people on my journey of life and I have good memories from my junior high and I have even more wonderful memories from my high school years. Those High school years were not so bad even though when I was there it seemed so scary and life seemed so very hard to endure but in the scheme of things life was pretty wonderful back then. nds that left this life so very early. Life just seems to be going way too fast now that high school is behind me. I've heard many say that later in life we gain wisdom by our experiences in life but like many of my classmates I can now look back and see the memories of high school that were good and many of those good experiences outweighed the bad experiences of those high school years. I have wonderful grown adult children now, I have a wonderful job managing staff in the computer industry, and I have hope for a wonderful future, but I often think about those wonderful days in high school and I wonder what happened to many of the friends I made while there at Ranum High. Life is full of surprises but one thing is for sure, friends and family are the most important things in life and our life at Ranum was wonderful no matter how hard it was to tackle the peer pressure and the challenges of our youth that we endured in those years as seniors of Ranum High. Life may not be a rose garden, and life may not have turned out the way I expected but the many wonderful memories as a student of Ranum High School will not be forgotten, I'm proud to be a graduate of the class of 1974.
