Karen's Story

In high school, I didn't take the time to get to know many of you because I was dating Brian. we were engaged before graduation and planning a wedding with him in the Navy took all my energy my senior year. I do regret that. I moved to Illinois after Brian got out of the Navy and we started our family with a son in 1985. In 1996 with three kids to raise Brian was diagnosed with Leukemia. He had a bone marrow transplant and died shortly afterward of a common infection because his immune system hadn't grown strong enough to fight it. I met and soon married a widower from CO and that is where I live now. My son is out on his own and doing well after a very difficult-to say the least-teenage angst. graduate this year and is very musical as I was and am. My youngest is a competitive softball player and will most likely I am told get a full ride scholarship because of her skills. All in all I am a proud mom and Brian is missed alot. My second husband and I are awaiting the arrival of our divorce papers. 2008 is the year I get to grow up. I have gone back to work after staying home all these years to raise my kids. I work in a bakery at a grocery and I love it. Training to manage is the goal, but still need to be around to take care of my girls final years at home. I would love to reconnect with anyone who vaguely remembers me. courage2u is my screenname for all messengers and email. MSN and yahoo are my favorite places to hang out. Coming to CO look me up. I'd be happy to be your CO connection. Hope life is treating you well.
