Karen's Story
Life
I grew up in Cutler Ridge as Karen Wellman on Jamaica Dr., I am now retired from SBC and live in Austin,Texas. I have a son Steve 39 years old, a brother Danny and a sister Linda. Both of my parents have passed away. Danny is a college professor in Fullerton, Ca. and Linda passed away Feb. 7th 2008. My son is a manager of a Chili's restuarant in Albq.,N.M. I have a lot of fond memories of Cutler Ridge, but I have lived in Texas for 27 years and love it! I also have a salsa product "Tia Karena". I would love to hear from anyone I went to school with.An update to my life is; I moved to California and now live with my brother Danny and his wife. I am having a great time living here.

ttey and Mr. Mann at Gulfstream? Also Mr. Baker at Cutler Ridge Junior High? The funniest memory was in the 4th grade at CRES, I got to be in the school play because I already had freckles and didn't have to paint them on! We blew in jugs and sang "We went to the animal fair, The birds and the beasts were there. The big baboon by the light of the moon was coming his auburn hair".
Workplace
My first job was working in the Cutler Ridge Bowling Alley snack bar. Flipping burgers, washing dishes etc. After the usual restuarant jobs I graduated to the "telephone company" Southern Bell on U.S. 1 and 152nd st., in 1973 and 30 years later 2003, I retired from SBC in Dallas, Tx. I left Miami in 1977 and tranferred with my job to Houston, Tx., then Dallas, then Austin, and back to Dallas to retire. I moved back to Austin for retirement.
