Karen's Story
My memories of our 4 years at AHS are3 filled with the struggles of wearing braces, glasses and the battle of fitting in.Which later seemed so rediculous for I had many good friends, of whom one has remained, Karen Fosnaught, despite her Dad's relocation to Naval War College in RI, her Junior year. I ran into Don Walker at the Bank on Ravenwood Rd; across from the Thom McCann Shoe Store where he worked, while commuting to University of Baltimore. Since being "military brats",
we both wanted to plant roots, live in one place, raise a family where our children would grow up near family. This is not to say the world exposure we had was not beneficial. So somehow we ended up at the end of a dirt, unpaved road 40 miles west of the Whitehouse!! After 38yrs, it's ...Expand for more
still gravelly mudd. I became a small-time farmettee. I raised chickens, vegetables, planted hundreds of pine and spruce trees. In 70's& 80's I supplied many restaurants with eggs, produce, herbs.( I've continued, part time crating & designing fashions for select clients.) All the while creating, organizing the restoration&remodeling and retail corporations with Don. We have 2 sons, one a successful entrepreneur the other a multi technical media director of photography, jib operator, producer. We have just been blessed with a second granddaughter. Life though not without challenges to overcome, has been a journey fro which I hope to continue... These technological connections enhance our life! I look forward to hearing from each of you. Happy New Year!!
