Karen's Story
Life
Hi Everyone,
Well, I work for Kaiser Psychiatry, but my main passion is my union involvement. I am very active in the community in the various political arenas. You can find me at a protest rally, State Capitol, phone banking or political fundraiser. I love it!!!
My two children are grown and I am blessed with 3 grandkids. They are the light of my life.
I am single, but not lonely. There is so much to do and not enough time to do it. I love my life and am stronger for the choices (mistakes?) I made along the way.
I keep in touch with some of you, but not enough of you. Too much time has passed and life is short. I would love to hear from you and catch up on life.
College
I have attended various colleges and technical schools throughout my life, to include Sacramento City College, Sierra Jr College, American River Jr College, Temple JC (Texas), Texas State University, San Marcos, Tx. I am still working on that degree....oh my, a professional student. I love going to scho...Expand for more
ol and learning new things, exchanging ideas.
Technical courses include: Telephone Lineman, Operating Room Tech, Medic, Personnel Specialist. The military provided opportunity for various training and I took advantage of it. Again, loving to go to school, how could I resist???
Military
Believe it or not, I was in the United States Army. Yes, me. It was an exciting time. After my children were born, I had no direction. So of course the Army was the perfect choice! I was a Sergeant, E5. I got to see many places in the world, including Germany. I actually was an instructor for Telephone Lineman. I stayed in for 4 1/2 years. After that I went to school at Fort Sam Houston and became an Operating Room Tech. I was in the Texas National Guard and then the California National Guard. I had a lovely visit to Korea in 1988. After 8 years and my first grandchild, I felt I had served my country enough. Actually, I couldn't see me as a grandma marching around anymore. It just wasn't dignified......
