Karen's Story
Well, where do I start? After HS, went into the Air Force for a couple of years, then back to school at East L.A. Got married in 1977 to someone I had known since I was 16. His sister and I were good friends, that is how that all started. He got out of the Army the same time I got out of the Air Force and everything just fell into place. Anyways, we have been married for 32 years, sometimes happily, sometimes not. We were married for 8 years before we had our first child. She is now 24 and our youngest is 11, she is in 7th grade. In between, we have 5 other children. I have a 23 year old son and a 22 year old daughter. then we have 2 who are great BB players, and a10th grader who runs cross country and plays BB. married, we stayed in the area for a couple of years, then moved around. We lived in Tulsa and Phoenix, and ended up in Sacramento, CA where we lived until 1995. While there, I worked for UC Davis in Student Financial Aid, and as Registrar for a Tribal College. We moved to Anadarko, OK in 1995 and have been here ever since. We thought this would be a better place to raise our family. So far, so good! I have been working the lost 10 years for a non-profit as the Asst. Director and am still going to school. Since moving to Oklahoma, we have been blesed 8 grandchildren. 6 boys, and 2 girls. We have also adoped a son who is scheduled to graduate from high school in may.It has been a hectic life, but we enjoy it. Helps keep us young.
