Karen's Story

Life Ummm... I'm 52 - If I haven't done it yet, there's still time!:) Got my first tattoo last year (it's tiny, you'd have to look for it), have two teens, a chicken-hearted German Shepherd who spends 23 hours a day sleeping (some guard dog!), a Shepherd/Coyote Mix, a Beagle even the Pound didn't want, three cats, a job, the usual things people have, I think... My best high school friend is still my best friend - can you imagine??? Been married 23 years to a man I met in Argentina, who just became a proud American in April 2007 - YAY! Work in a strange shop we all call Diagon Alley (if you haven't read Harry Potter, you won't get that!) - I can't imagine anything else you'd want to know - but if you do, feel free to mail me! Thanks :o) School Of course I would do it all over again!!!! But only back then! I'd hate to go to school nowadays!!!! Crushes? Why would I tell? I did have a few crushes on friends of my brother Mike's, and a couple of teachers (what high school girl doesn't?) But I don't think they'd like it if I posted it here... :o) I loved Mr Kennepohl and Mr. Nunn! They were the most entertaining teachers I remember having there! Mr Slay was a real pain - always playing Devil's Advocate - but I really loved his classes. He made me think! (ouch! that's painful!) Ms Dizmang made me work my hiney off, but she is/was one super smart lady! I always wanted to look like her when I grew up - too bad I turned out closer to Roseanne Barr! LOL I thought Jill Hardinge was the most beauti...Expand for more
ful girl in choir, and I bet she still is... and I never see a Green M&M without thinking of her! Bob Henderson and Bernie Konkol were the most fun in choir - such smart alecks! Oh, and Tony Messenger - who was always getting me in trouble for things I really didn't do! I swear, Your Honor.... High School was fun in those days. I wish it were still that way... Well, maybe it is, in some places... My kids are both homeschooled now. Schools here in Las Vegas are far too dangerous to send children to! And I'm NOT overprotective! :O) Just realistic, and know my surroundings... My best friends were Ann Diefenderfer and Terri Coffee, and they still are. Who says high school friends can't stay close through the years? HAH! (OK, or maybe we just don't get around much... Hmmm....) OMG, I just remembered when Mr Herboldsheimer got his hair permed into an Afro!!! Remember that??? Oh wow!!! Now, I'm laughing out loud for real!!!!!! I wonder if anyone still has a pic of that... :o) Ah, those were the days.... Larry Jones, wherever you are, I still owe you an apology from 8th grade. It's sincere. You were and are a gentleman and a scholar. I wish I had half your talent! Workplace Well, you see, Doctor, it all started when I worked as a carhop in Utah the summer after graduation... Then it progressed to Mc Donald's, Jack in the Box, Beneficial Finance, AV College, AV Hospital, Telephone Interpreting... Who wouldn't end up a tarot card reader in Las Vegas after that kind of start???? HUH????? :o)
