How do I hope old friends remember me? When I die, or while I'm still alive? Anyhow, it seems to me that I am an entirely different person than I was at Proviso West. Most people might remember me as the girl who was "kicked" out due to being 5 months pregnant and got married to Marty Hansen (class of 1961) the next day... (lol) I was the first in my class to come back to Proviso West after our son was born and stayed for a few months, but dropped out again for a different reason. . So some may remember me as a pioneer, which I have been many times, as the first female in a man's world (computers and software engineering, then network sales and marketing); and finally a career in education (professor of computer science at college). Ms. Broderick said I had ruined my chances at a career, but I don't think so, these days. Others may remember me as a quitter and that is true, too. I quit cigarettes when I was 22 years old and haven't smoked regularly since... I still see Marty and he is getting healthier after his 5-way by-pass on his heart now. We have been divorced since 1972, but have two GREAT kids and 3 WONDERFUL grandsons together, so we are still family!!! I am getting healthier too, strange that I waited so long, but it was a scare of Type 2 diabetes that caused me to eat healthier and lose 50 pounds so far! These days I love to hike, went up to Eagle Falls at South Lake Tahoe and hiked with my hus...Expand for more
