Life
Life has taken a different turn for me. I married Clark Waldram from the class on 1970. Yes, I married a younger man so that we could grow old together. We were married for 30 years and 1 month and 3 days, when a Drunk Driver killed Clark on his way to a Boy Scout meeting on his Harley Sportster. I then was thrown into the legal system. I am not to fond of lawyers, judges and the legal system. I learned about our MO laws real fast. I found out that the man who killed Clark could be convicted of 2nd degree murder. On June 12,2001 he pled guilty to 2nd degree murder and was sentenced on Jan 4th, 2002 to 18 years. I now am a Victim Advocate for MADD, I also do talks with the Independence Police and for MADD. I have learned that the speech classes I took at Ray-South Jr High was getting me ready for this phase of my life. I also do Sobriety Checkpoints. I also worked with a former classmate Alan Kunz from the Overland Park Police Dept. He had the good sense to marry another classmate of ours Rhonda Bailey. It was good to see them both at the 35th class reunion.
Well it is now the end of 2007 and I now have 3 grandchildren. I thought I would never have any and within a year I had a little granddaughter named Kennedy Anne born on July 24th, 2006 and then on July 21st, 2007, Bailey Marie was born. September 27th brought me my first Grandson Jacob Anthony. So I have been quite busy babysitting and flying out to San Diego to take care of Jacob. In 2008 my daughter came home from San Diego to th area. She finished her 4 years as a Navy Officer, but now is getting her MBA at Rockhurst. My oldest daughter is having her 2nd baby at the end of May and it is a boy! So I will be busy babysitting when Mom goes back to work. I still am doing taxes so now is a busy time.
May 28th,2009 I was blessed with another beautiful grandson, Jackson Bryant. He is so beautiful and on Aug 4th I will again start babysitting him so his Mother can go back to work. On March 31st, 2010 I was blessed with another grandson, Mason Clark, he is so precious and such a good baby. . .I quit doing taxes on December 31, 2010,after 23 years. I have quit MADD and have started a new group with others, we have joined RID, Remove Intoxited Drivers, but our chapter is called VOID(Victims of Impaired Drivers) as we are focusing on not only Drunk Drivers, but texting and Drugs. We also take NO money an we Volunteer on our own. We are doing lots of things in the Community and we hope that if you get a chance we put a display at the Trails West Library in Independence. We still have things in the flat cases but will be putting up our display again in July, I hope that you all can get by there. Life is Good!! I now have been blessed with another Grandchild, Emaley Hope, was born on July 1st and she is a beautiful little girl and such a good baby! I have been blessed with another grandson Deacon on April 11th, 2013 I have now been blessed with 7 grandchildren! "Life is GOOD"!
