Karen's Story
I live in Haymarket, Virginia - just about 30 miles from Washington D.C.
My daughter & her husband both work in D.C. Michelle is a Captain in the US Army and also an RN at Walter Reed Medical Center and Eric works for the Pentagon. They are the proud parents of a 3 mo. old little girl and want to raise their family in the country.
They found a beautiful log home on 10 acres near Manassas, VA and asked me if I'd like to leave my job in Kansas and come live w/ them and take care of their little one. Long story short? Here i am! :) and loving it!!!!
I have 4 grown children and my 5th grandchild is due in just 4 weeks - a little boy in Kansas City. I can hardly wait to meet him!!!
I love photography - have my own line of greeting cards that spotlight a number of my original images. I also enjoy hiking, camping, exploring Civil War battlefi...Expand for more
elds (we live just about 5 miles from the "Battle of Bull Run" battlefields - it's awesome), and I love to travel.

It's now 2012 - and I've a few updates to the above profile. :) I am now a live-in Nanny/Household manager for a little 9 yr. old girl and her family in Manassas, VA. It's awesome! :) I've got my own 3rd floor suite in a beautiful post-Civil War era home, the family is a wonderful family - we get along very well, AND I've now got 7 grandchildren!!!
One of my favorite activities is singing with the Manassas Chorale. It's an auditioned, 110 voice chorale within the DC area. Last year we were invited to sing in NYC on 9/11 as part of the 10-yr. Memorial - we sang at Lincoln Center - it was the highlight of my year.
Life is wondreful!!!
