Karen's Story
Life
My life has always revolved around family and friends. I've been single for over 9 years, and now have a wonderful man in my life... I have 2 wonderful adult sons. My oldest son lives in the Alpena area, and my youngest son lives in Boston, MA. My oldest son has 3 children, two are girls and the youngest was born in June 07.My youngest son is married and has a son, almost 2, and another on the way. I also have a wonderful grandson who's dad used to live with us when he was a senior in high school. My grandchildren are the 'lites' of my life.
College
I attended and graduated from Alpena...Expand for more
's Hollywood School of Beauty in 1970-71.
I also have taken classes at Alpena Community College over the past 10 years.
Workplace
I wanted to be a hairstylist since I was 14 years old. I never changed my mind all through high school. I graduated from Alpena's Hollywood School of Beauty in June of 1971. Except for a little over a year when I lived in North Carolina, I have always worked as a hairstylist. My first job was at Norma's Beaute Boutique in '71, at Alice's Beauty Salon '72-'74, owned Karen's Hair Shop from '74 until 2000, and now I own & work at a small salon in town. Life is good.
