Karen's Story
My parents (g-d love 'em) moved our family to Boulder, Colorado, for my senior year in HS. So, I didn't get to graduate with all you folks I had gone to school with in Abilene since the 4th grade.
I went to Japan as a model (yes, really) after graduation, then started college at C.U. Boulder in the fall of 1980. Got married in 1985, had two awesome sons, and did the housewife thing until I left the marriage in 1995.
I moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado with my kids, and got a job at (then) MCI, where I started as a Tech Writer, then taught myself (with a couple of classes and lots of help from mentors) to be a software/network engineer and DBA. Quintessent...Expand for more
ial geek chick, until I met and married the love of my life, David Margrave, and gave it all up to become his legal assistant. Still doing some coding, network and database work, but for the law firm, and not Corporate America©.
Favorite teachers: Rose Williams (Cooper Latin), Maxine Bond (Cooper Honors English), Mr. Coonrod (sp?) (Cooper (or was it Madison JH??) Geometry teacher, a/k/a "Chrome Dome"), and Andrea Meyer (Fairview Orchestra).
My two sons are grown: my oldest now an architecture/design student, and my baby stationed in Korea with the Army.
My life is most excellent and fulfilling, and hope it is as well for whomever reads this.
