Karen's Story
California beckoned soon after my mother died in 1969. I have never wanted to live anywhere else since I moved to Northern California. Fresh moist fragrant air, mild climate (no snow), natural beauty to rival the Wasatch Front, and healthy living.
No small town lifestyle here. Almost everyone comes from somewhere else. You are whatever and whoever you want to be. The culture is tolerant and intelligent, the population diverse. Something for everyone: go to the opera, go to the beach.

orable. As I approach retirement age, life continues to be an adventure. The challenge, as always, is to make the best of whatever life brings. I find great peace in nature, great joy in family and community involvement. My husband of 32 years is the light of my life. Together, we live simply and well.
I don't miss Ogden, though I wouldn't mind seeing the trees turn in the fall or smelling the snow on top of Mt. Ogden. I wonder what happened to all those people I knew there, so long ago. Are you happy you stayed? Are you happy you left? Are you happy?
