Karen's Story
I am married to my third and last husband; third time is a charm! We have four kids, three grandkids and one great grandson. I have been a wife, mother, foster parent, house parent for at-risk kids, house parent for unwed mothers, Affiliate Sales Coordinator, Telcom Administrator, Realtor and I am currently in retail sales. I am starting a career with Select Comfort Sleep Number Beds in Lubbock, Texas May 12th. I am a trainer and Bra Fit Specialist at JC Penney and will continue to work there on Sunday only, after I start my career with Select Comfort. But first things first, a Florida vacation with our youngest daughter her husband and granddaughter, Kayla. I have lived in Texas, West Virginia, Colorado, Kansas, Florida and back to Texas. lost 12 of the 30 pounds I gained after major back surgery. I had six hours surgery after an injury; two rods, five screws 80 staples and three months on a walker. My prognosis was a life time on a walker. I loved physical therapy; a personal trainer paid for by workers compensation insurance! I refused the prognosis and recommendation to file for SSI. I have 18 more to lose to be back to 15 lbs above my high school weight. I am working the Nutisystem program and Tops (taking off pounds sensibly). I also walk 30 minutes every morning. I love to walk! My husband and I live in a retirement community walking distance from my work. My five year plan is to retire my husband so he can have dinner on the table when I arrive home from work. Life is good! Every day is a good day, some are just better than others!
