Karen's Story
Life
I tried everything then joined the Navy. I spent 6 years active and 3 in the reserves. I moved to the Seattle area just in time for the dotcom boom and had a great time. I am currently living in Bothell, WA and own my home with Mark and two cats. Life is good, still on a quest to figure out what I want to be when I grow up. I started skydiving when I was in the Navy and have been jumping for 10 years now. I hope to see you all at the reunion. If you read this, let me know you were here.
12/06 The latest and greatest, I am going to culinary school! I start in January and will have a degree in all things yummy by the time I am done. It took me long enough to figure it out, but I am on my way.
3/07 Well, I am the equivalent of divorced, trying to move out soon, the hardest part is that we are still friends, have never fought and I saw it coming but the outcome I saw was completely different. Aren't we all fools when it comes to love?
12/07 I have moved to Seattle proper. I live with a very...Expand for more
fun couple who have taken on my healing self. I decided I didn't want to work in a kitchen, so I didn't finish school, but those of you who know me well enough won't be surprised by that. Still don't know what to be when I grow up. One day I will get there.
The latest big news? I bought a classic Austin Mini. A tiny little 4x4x10 foot scoot and I named him Earl. It was the biggest cornfed country boy name I could think of for this tiny little car. The year is almost up. 2008 can only be an improvement on this last year for me.
5/08 I started working at Fred Meyer in Ballard, WA in the bakery. I guess I wasn't done with food after all. I started on the First of Feb, and by the First of Apriil they were asking me to be Manager of the Bakery, can you believe that? EEEEK! Yeah, I am a little freaked out as this is my first foray into a kitchen, baking or even the retail industry. I will have 8 people working for me and I am terrified, but it's all part of my master plan to take over the world.
