Karin's Story
Life
I Graduated from UTEP with a BS in Electrical Engineering with Computer Engineering. My initial goal was to get two degrees, one in EE and one in Biology. My plan was to continue in either Biomedical Engineering or go on to Medical School. I only had less than 30 hours left to finish my Biology degree when I graducated with my EE degree, but by that time I was wornout from going to school and being broke. I started working with Nortel in Dallas, TX, where I met my husband. I got married in 1996. We moved to Germany in 1997 which gave me an opportunity to get in touch with my roots (reconnect with my dad) and do a LOT of traveling in Europe and Asia. We stayed for over 3 years. When I repatriated back to the US, I moved to a Nortel site in North Carolina. I'm now a stay-at-home mom and still living in North Carolina. I have 2 boys, ages 8 and 5, and a daughter, aged 2. They keep me pretty busy.
