Karl's Story
I've had an exciting and wonderful life after leaving high school. Enlisted in the US Air Force (USAF) in the summer of '62; met and married in 1968 a wonderful girl from Austria after returning from Vietnam duty. Finished college in '71 (Univ of Maryland), got a commission in the U.S. Air Force, went to navigator training and then spent 20 years as a Weapon Systems Officer flying F-4 Phantom fighters in Asia, the US and in Europe. Had the privelege to command both a squadron and airbase in Europe. Finished my 33-year USAF career at the US Embassy in Bonn, Germany as Chief Office of Defense Cooperation retiring as colonel in 1996. Company) as their country director for Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Baltic States and Russia with office in Bonn, Germany. In January 2008 I retired a second time and Pauline and I live full-time in Bonn, Germany. We were never blessed with children; but, had dogs (Lhasa Apso) for nearly 35 years that enriched our lives tremendously. I now devote my full-time to travel and golf around Europe; and to Naples, Florida where we maintain a second home and my mother resides. We get back to Naples 3-4 times a year spending 4-6 weeks each time. It really would be great to have a high school reunion; and to get back to Port Jervis to visit with friends that I havent seen in over 40 years!
