Karl's Story
I am still teaching, and still hear from former students from time to time. I have been teaching at Mission College in Santa Clara since 1992. After 37 years of teaching, I still look forward to more years. I just slow down and save my energy for my kids, Barbara, Loretta, and Jimmy.
As you can see from my pictures, I finally got married in 1997 to my wife, Mary. We have 3 kids (Barbara 11 years, Loretta 5 years, and Jimmy 6 months). I guess I can't retire yet. With the kids, teaching is secondary, but remains rewarding. Teaching at the college level gives me more flexibility and more time with my family; so I now bike ride, jog, go camping with my wife and kids. Remember, I see all of you as kids in my class or classmates at Menlo-Atherton High or Carlmont High and that was a long time ago.

I have lost some hair but still have my dedication to teaching; so I may not have the hair, but I still have the heart and three loving children and a wife to take care of and nurture as I have tried to do in teaching all of you in the past.
