Karon's Story
Life
Joined the Air Force after 1 year at Suffolk Community College. Have lived in many places including CA, SD, TX, Okinawa Japan, NE, Korea, CO and now permanently in Biloxi, MS. Retired 1 Oct 02, as a Chief Master Sergeant, after 30 years in the Air Force. Married to a fellow retired Air Force member, with a daughter, and a grandson and and granddaughter. Retired from Civil Service in Oct 2012.

Graduated from St. John's Lutheran Elementary School, Glendale, NY, 1967; attended Martin Luther High School, Maspeth, NY, 1967-1970; graduated from Connetquot High School, Bohemia, NY, 1971. Member of the National Honor Society.

Attended Suffolk Community College, San Antonio Community College, University of Maryland, and graduated from University of Nebraska, Omaha NE.

Military
Joined the United States Air Force in September 1972, graduated from Basic Training in Nov 1972, Dental Assisting Tech School in Feb 1972. Became a First Sergeant in Jan 1987 until June 1997, when I went back into the Dental Career Field. In May 2001 I became the Superintendent, Keesler Medical Center. I was promoted to Chief Master Sergeant (the highest enlisted grade)in August 1995. I retired 1 October 2002. I have lived in Fairfield, California; Rapid City, South Dakota; San Antonio, Texas; Okinawa, Japan; Omaha, Nebraska; Osan Air Base, Korea; Colorado Springs, Colorado; and finally in Biloxi, Mississippi.
