Kate's Story

After high school I went to the University of Washington for (ahem) 5 years. I goofed off a bit (more) after that, and spent a summer in Alaska as a tour guide for Princess Tours - driving a 50' bus and getting lost whenever possible. Think Julie McCoy on the highway. When I came home and realized I had no interest in any of the jobs I interviewed for, I decided to follow my real passion and go back to school to study commercial photography. g food (Yes, food. For restaurants, cookbooks, magazines, packaging, etc.) and people/lifestyle (corporate photos, lifestyle magazine photos, editorial portraits) and I've now begun working on rotating 3-D imagery for unique products. I share a warehouse photo studio with another photographer, located at the north end of downtown Seattle. It's been a blast. I've recently gotten into film (video) and will soon begin working on a documentary project. With my free time (ha) I've been studying alternative medicine (Chinese 5-Element Medicine & Shamanic healing practices) and do this professionally as well.
