Katherine's Story
Life
Born and grew up in Cincinnati,Ohio. Mother and biological Father from Knox County, KY.
I went to Camp Washington Grade School, Chase Elementary, Schwab Juniour High School, Hughes and Aiken Senior High.
During my Juniour year my mother took me out of school and put me in night school in Clifton.
During my Senior year I was able to finish classes at Aiken. The classes were to get 1 and a half credits to graduate. No one knew me by then and I was married.
I married October 25, 1971 at my home in Northside. My husband was from Harlan County, Kentucky.
From 1969 until 1974 I helped my Mom and Dad in the grocery located in Northside.
In 1974, my husband and I moved to Knox County, Kentucky.
June 22, 1976 I gave birth to our first child. Daniel Joe Bryant.
August 30, 1977 I gave birth to our second child. Mark Steve Bryant.

Because of health problems from childhood, there could be no more children.
In 1981 I attended Union College in Knox County, Kentucky.
In 1982 we moved back to Cincinnati, Ohio. Carthage.
I worked at East Galbraith Health Care Center and worked for MJ Nursing Service.
In March 1983 we moved to Miamitown, Ohio and purchases our first home.
In 1983 I attended CTI and got my BS in Chemistry.
In 1983 my mother passed away from Colon Cancer.
In 1985 we moved to Loveland, Ohio so I could take care of Granny at her home.
In 1985 I attended Deaconess School of Nursing.
In 1986 my beloved Grandmother passed away from throat cancer.
In 1988 we moved back to Knox County, Kentucky. I sold my childhood home in Loveland, Ohio. My grandfather had purchased the property and build the house while working on the WPAand building the bridges on 22/3 ( Montgomery Road ).
In 1990 we purchased a home in Middlesboro, Kentucky.
For 2 years I ran a landscaping Business.
1991- I went back to school at Southeast College and got an Accounting and Business degree.
1991- I worked part time at a Trucking Company. Dispatching Drivers.
In 1992 I went to work full time dispatching.
In 1996 our boys graduated from Middlesboro High School.
Daniel went full time Army. Mark signed 3 years National Guard.
Mark married August 1995.
Our granddaughter Kayla, was born June 22, 1995.
In 1997 I went back to Southeast College for classes to do Genealogy.
I worked for Mountain Trading, owned and operated by ...Expand for more
American Indians and did genealogy for people so they could register their American Indian roots. Most of the people from the Southeast Kentucky area had family that were removed during the Trail of Tears.
I still do genealogy.
I have traveled the entire United States with my husband. He is a truck driver and has been for 36 years.
I have and still do my own genealogy. I have roots in Scotland, Ireland,Italy, France and Holland. Mostly Scottish roots and family history from New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Virginia, N. Carolina & Kentucky.
I have a great affinity for the American Indian. My husband is 1/2 Cherokee and Iroqouis. I have a line of Catawba and Pee Dee River.
We now live in Knox County, Kentucky of a family farm. We still have our home in Middlesboro, Kentucky.
My Dad passed away in May 2002. I miss him.
I do quilting, basket weaving, make candles, garden, sing in church, do genealogy, travel, and have learned how to tile, use a power saw, lay wood floors and appreciate the mountains and the wildlife we have here.
I may still go back to school. I would like to learn how to play some string instruments. Mandolin, Dulcimer, LAP harp, etc.
I've now learned the Dulcimer, Lap Harp, and the Auto Harp.
I still smoke and won't quit. I quit drinking. I traded Jack for Joe.
The place I would love to go visit and live for a year or two is Scotland. I would like to visit Florence, Italy and Tyrone County, Ireland. It's all about finding yourself.
When you find your ancestors and who they were, you find who you are.
My greatest accomplishments are: MY CHILDREN.
June 8, 2008, Sunday, my husband for 36 yrs., passed away. We knew each other for 40 yrs. He was the love of my life. I was blessed beyond words with this man. He wasn't a rich man in money, but rich with what money can't buy.

Stephanie, 7.
Lily Breanna, 6. I am her only grand parent.
And now we have a new baby. Her name is Emma Grace. She is my great grandchild. As of May 13, 2014.
Kayla Nicole belongs to my son, Mark.
Well, I am not still on the farm. I am in Columbus, Oh. I now have a hole in my stomach and in my throat. Cancer.
They took every thing out of my throat. Lymph, Thyroid, Voice box, every thing. I can no longer taste or smell or talk. James Cancer Hospital. I live with my son, Mark and his partner.
