Katherine's Story

Life After graduation I went to community college in the Catskills and received an associates degree in commercial art. I got married in 1982 and moved to Connecticut, I was divorced in 1988 but still live and work in the nutmeg state. I have 2 grown children and an adorable grandson. I married a wonderful man a few years ago, we met online (yes, it really works) he is a part time musician and runs his own video editing business, I like to say he makes memories and preserves them. It is an exciting new chapter in my life working beside my husband , whether it is being second camera on a video shoot or helping out as a roadie/photographer for the band. School When I didn't have to be in class and a few times when I did, I pretty much lived in Mr Witherspoon's artroom K-8. Art was my major, my hobby and my social life. If I had it all to do again, I would not have worried...Expand for more
so much about what my classmates thought of me, or said about me, I would have enjoyed my youth. I am thankful that I avoided the usual teenage temptations. But my regrets are not concentrating more on school and other options education could have provided me and losing touch with some of the few friends I had. Workplace Following a frustrating job search in the art field, I ended up flipping burgers, from there I moved up to office temping and was eventually hired by a major utility company as a clerk. Took a couple years off until the children both started school then got a part time retail job. That was followed by a few years of homecare and companion work for an elderly family, then back into retail but at least I was in crafts and managing a department. Sadly like a rat, I had to desert that sinking ship and now I work for a major retail chain...here is a hint :)
